Hi, I knew Dave and was indeed with him until around 4.30 on the Friday, I made him a cup of tea, and was going to have a chat with him about my engine rebuild.
He seemed ok,I asked if there was anything I could do to help around the shop, I would be more than willing to help. But he was quite busy so we didn’t really get to chat much.
Anyway Dave has certainly left his mark, and was a well respected bloke, I am sure you are very proud of him and the respect he has earned over the years.
Dave will be missed by many people, a great gentle friendly man who made a great impression on people.
My thoughts are with you all at this sad time, but please take comfort in the fact he was a FANTASTIC man and a genius at what he did. I am indeed proud to be able to say I knew him and was a friend.
Thanks phil

Hello ,
Just thought I'd say how shocked and sorry I was to hear the news about Dave. Only found out now after I have returned from a weekend at Woodbridge racing. What a decent bloke he was and he was always happy and looked like he enjoyed everything thoroughly. My condolences to his family , must be a terrible time for them , hopefully they can draw some comfort from the fact he was so well liked.

Subject: Will miss you Dave

So sad to hear about Dave's passing.
Over the past 4 years I got to know Dave really well and he built me two fantastic engines for my Lambretta. The man was a superb engineer and tuner with seemingly endless knowledge, creative ideas and the ability to squeeze those important extra horses from the Italian/ Indian shopping bikes I love.
He always had time for a chat and a cuppa. Nothing was ever too much trouble and he came to my rescue on many occasions.
He built me with a Rapido 250 that has given me the most fun I have ever had on a Lammy in the 30 years I have owned them!
The scooter scene locally and nationally has lost a true original, a maverick who did things his way and gave the finger to those who doubted his ability. How wrong they were!
It was a pleasure & privilige to have known you Dave, I will miss you.
